Sync Your Cell Phone
Being in business you will already understand the importance of networking and personal contacts. These days our mobile phones are really virtual assistants, keeping lists of contacts, things we need to do and appointments. But do we back up this valuable business data in case of loss or damage?
It has been estimated that fewer than 15% of mobile telephone users actually backup their data in case of loss or damage. Why not a take a few moments now to consider what would be the impact of your losing all of the business contacts you have on your mobile phone. Think about whether you have these details stored elsewhere?
These days I don’t take any risks and backup my telephone data every day. But this is a relatively new routine for me that I established after having lost my mobile phone while hiking one weekend. The impact of this loss was enormous. I’d accumulated numerous contacts whose details were held solely on my mobile phone. The cost to my business of my losing these was immense. That’s why, these days, I synchronize my cell phone and computer every day. And I have my phone covered with mobile phone insurance to pay for a replacement the next time I lose it, which is bound to happen sooner or later.
Backing up your phone data should be a simple task if you refer to the applications that came with your phone. If it’s a Sony, Nokia or similar then you will have been provided with a disk full of applications that will include the facility to copy all of your telephone data to your computer. If you ever lose or replace your phone it should be a simple matter of copying the data back from your computer to your replacement handset.
